To complete this component, I particpated in two different service learning opportunities. Both of these opportunities equipped me with different skills that I will use in my future career.

    • Fulton Ambassadors: I have participated in Fulton Ambassadors for the last 3.5 years. During my sophomore and junior year, I was the Webmaster on the Executive Board and was in charge on managing the website and the newsletter to streamline communications. My senior year, I was elected as President and created goals to move the organization to new heights. In the process, I have learned about volunteering, myself, and how to encourage other students to want to continue to volunteer.

    • Desert Hacks: After participating in HackArizona in Spring 2016, my friends and I took it upon ourselves to bring the hacking culture to Arizona State University. From Fall 2016 - Spring 2017, we worked on building the tech community around ASU, connecting different tech organizations and industry sponsors, and encouraging students for help. All this work culminated into Desert Hacks, a hackathon that took place in February 2017. During the year, I worked on many different aspects of the hackathon, and during the event, I worked with student teams and other places as necessary. This experience has taught me how to handle challenges in volunteering and how significant of an impact an event you run can have on a person's career and life trajectory.
