Planning

In addition to these short documents, we encourage you to review all the faculty resources created to support the implementation and use of digital portfolios into your Writing Programs Courses. You will find lots of useful information and step-by-step directions there.

When you request a BlackBoard shell/course, you need to add an ePortfolio along with your request. Near the end of the process, you will see a link to “Additional options.” Click here for instructions.

Add Digication as a tool in your BlackBoard course menu. Click here for instructions.

Add the Digication help module to your BlackBoard course menu. Click here for instructions.

Create your own course template, or use the Writing Programs template. Click here for instructions.

Associate your course template with your course BlackBoard. Click here for instructions.

If you used a Digital Portfolio in your course last semester you will need to update the deadlines (if present) as well as the title of your Digital Portfolio.

Consider adding an assignment to your first week activities requiring students to create their course ePortfolio and write and publish a draft bio. For instructions, click here.

Be sure to update your syllabus with Digital Portfolio information and assignment due dates. Double check your Blackboard site, the Portfolio Template, and your syllabus to ensure that all dates match.
