To fulfill the interdisciplinary requirement of the Grand Challenge program, I completed FSE 194/150, as well as a health-related interdisciplinary experience.

I took the required course, FSE 194/150: Perspectives on the Grand Challenges of Engineering, my first semester at ASU. Taking this course during the fall of my freshman year immediately introduced me to the values and mission of the Grand Challenges program. I met like-minded engineering students and worked with a team from various engineering disciplines. I learned about the main engineering challenges facing our society and was given a platform to immediately start brainstorming innovative solutions.

For the second interdisciplinary component, I served as the Director of the Well Devil Coalition. Beginning in August 2014 until February 2015, I directed and led the program to expand a community of wellness among ASU students. This experience directly related to my theme of health and was an initiative to educate and support students to live healthy. I hosted events and led different wellness initiatives. I partnered with organizations both in and outside of the community, as well as worked directly with the ASU Wellness department.
