I am majoring in Engineering Management here at ASU. While I didn't expect any of my freshman core classes to be particularly thrilling, I found myself pleasantly surprised as I noticed my writing style changing (hopefully for the better), and learning how to actually research papers without relying solely on Google was certainly a useful experience.
From Seattle originally, and later the Idaho panhandle, I moved all the way down to Arizona - largely to escape the frozen tundra, but also to escape the rural life.
Being a freshman, I haven't had too many noteworthy collegiate experiences yet, though walking on water for my intro to engineering class last semester was a little bit wild.
My interests are, admittedly, a little pretentious: fountain pens and loose leaf tea, to name a couple. Really, though, I don't enjoy them just for the snobbery, I enjoy them because of how truly satisfying it is to write with such a unique, personal instrument, or steep a tea to perfection, exactly how I like it. I'm also fairly active in the local music scene, going to house shows on weekends and supporting local bands.
In the future, I would like to work on projects perhaps related to space colonization, or at least tangentially related to furthering mankind's interests. I believe that I can find satisfying, interesting, fulfilling work while also helping those around me.
