I believe that the Global Dimension component of the GCSP requirements is the most important because it directly aligns with my personal goals of doing humanitarian work around the world. The global component also exposes us to challenges that have risen recently because of globalization; these apply to all fields, not just engineering. 

To complete the first part of the component, I took COM 263: Elements of Intercultural Communication. This class did not only focus on culture as we think of it pertaining to different geographical areas but also the different culture of age, gender, sexuality, religion, etc. I never realized how helpful this class would be to be a better communicator in everything that I do. What I learned from this class also helped me tremendously on my trip to India with EWB, which is how I completed the second global component.
