The Service Learning component of the Grand Challenge Scholars Program aims to develop their social consciousness and motivation to use their technical expertise to help solve societal problems.

In order to fulfill the 80 required hours of Service Learning, I did a combination of experiences: one semester of EPICS, four semesters of Fulton Ambassadors, and I have been involved with Engineers Without Borders @ ASU for the past three years. Through these experiences, I have used my engineering knowledge and experiences as a student to give back to several communities in the form of K-12 outreach and humanitarian engineering projects. The Service Learning component has truly made an impact in my undergraduate career as it is it the main reason why I joined Engineers Without Borders. In Engineers Without Borders, I have found my passion for engineering for social change and the guidance for my future career.
