The Writers’ Studio uses the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) and Writing Program Administrators (WPA) Learning Outcomes. First-year composition students in our courses will work toward mastery of these skills. Please click on "WPA Outcomes" to read about these learning outcomes.
In addition to the WPA Outcomes skills and practices, all students should demonstrate knowledge of and progression in the Habits of Mind, outlined in the Framework for Success in Postsecondary Writing. This document is endorsed by the Council of Writing Program Administrators, National Council of Teachers of English and the National Writing Project. The Habits of Mind are ways of approaching learning that are both intellectual and practical and that will support students’ success in a variety of fields and disciplines. Please click on "Habits of Mind" to read about these eight Habits of Mind essential for success in college writing.
